We air-sealed the top plates, confirmed the soffit vents were still breathing, and blew a fresh blanket of GreenFiber across the whole attic floor. Attic Cleaning and Rodent Proofing After a Roof Rat Colony
A homeowner in Walnut called us about scratching sounds above the master bedroom. When we opened the access hatch, we found a full roof rat colony had turned the insulation into a tunnel network. We removed every bit of contaminated material, vacuumed and sanitized the decking, sealed the entry points with steel mesh and foam, and blew in fresh Owens Corning fiberglass. This Covina homeowner was tired of hearing every car that drove by and feeling a draft on the couch in January. The exterior walls were completely empty, no insulation at all.
